C.T.Y.A.A. Rules and Regulations
Since its inception, our organization’s primary responsibility is to the overall well-being and safety of our players, coaches, parents/guardians and spectators. Below are some rules and regulations our organization stands by to protect this responsibility.

  • Practice – the earliest any team is allowed to have organized practice, in which the organization can be responsible for, is April 1st of each year and will continue throughout the season. Voluntary practices can be held throughout the year, but do not fall under the responsibility of C.T.Y.A.A.

  • Baseball Season – the season starts approximately at the end of April and will continue through the end of June. Based on the age level of play, the number of games can range from 10 to 22 games within this time period. For specific guidelines concerning each level of play, please refer to “Divisions” section of this website.

  • Safety – The safety of our players and coaches is our #1 priority. Therefore, it is the coach’s responsibility to look out for the welfare of their players while they are engaged in practice or a game. The coach should review these ground rules during the first practice of the season.

  • Inclement Weather – It is our organizations policy to postpone or delay any practice or game to due uncertain weather conditions to ensure safety for all individuals involved. Each coach is responsible for contacting their players if a practice or game is postponed. It will always be the responsibility of the home coach to postpone or delay any scheduled game.

  • Sportsmanship – It is the coach’s responsibility to ensure that his/her players, assistant coaches and parents observe the appropriate behavior during a game or practice. C.T.Y.A.A. will not tolerate abusive language and/or behavior (such as obscene gestures, taunting, name-calling, fighting, etc.) during a scheduled practice or game. In games where an umpire is present, this person will have the final word on any actions that need to be taken to ensure the safety and welfare of the players, coaches, parents and spectators. Violators of this policy will be subject to a Review Board and may have coaching privileges taken away for any period of time deemed necessary.

  • Scheduled Meetings – C.T.Y.A.A. organizational meeting are held on every third Sunday of the month at 7:00 pm at the Cecil Township Municipal Building. It is strongly recommended that all coaches attended these scheduled meetings as new information is reviewed concerning fields, promotions and organizational issues. Any changes will be made public on our website.

  • Volunteerism – Our organization does not run itself. Many countless hours are spent by volunteers to help C.T.Y.A.A. what it is today. We encourage all parents/guardians to become actively involved in our organization. Whether it be helping out at the concession stand or assist a coach prepare a field for play, the more volunteers involved, the better the experience for the players.

  • Problem Resolution – Any issues or concerns involving players, coaches, parents/guardians, field conditions, scheduled games and/or anything not covered above should be brought to the attention of the current Board Members. Please refer to the contact section of this site for more information.
